Kelly reaches the semi-finals

Because Kelly was seeded first in this championship, she had a ‘bye’ and did not play in the first round. Directly she has reached the quarterfinals and had to play against her Norwegian opponent Nora Korneliussen. Also it was great that this match was broadcasted live on TV, so all family and friends could watch this match in the Netherlands.

Kelly started really good, played agressieve and putted pressure on the Norwegian opponent. The scores went up fast and Kelly won by 11-4. The second game was a copy op the first one, fast and agressieve offensive play was rewarded with a score of 11-3. At the start of the third game Kelly was a little sloppy, got behind with 3-0, but recovered very well and ultimately won with 11-7 to reach the semi-finals who will be played on Thursday morning.

Thursday it will be a great match against the Chinese WANG Rui and a more difficult match is expected than against Nora Korneliussen. The winner will be playing the final, scheduled at 19.15 hours the same day. We will see if Kelly is capable to reach the final of the Paralympic Games for the fourth consecutive time?

On the action picture of Kelly you will find some of the ‘orange army’ supporters on the background.
